you should only try something if no one is open and you are in an advanced position. the goal is to keep your team in possession of the ball as much as possible. Or if you catch someone flat footed you can use a burst of speed to dink the ball to the side and beat him.Įdit 2: to be clear, i'm saying you shouldn't focus on skill moves if you're just playing for fun. for example if a defender is sprinting towards you, you can usually use his momentum against him and get away. instead learn to read which situations you can use a simple drop of the shoulder. I'm terrible at skill moves, in fact i'd never even attempt them in game. there is no secret to being good, it takes hard work and dedication which it sounds like you don't have time for. set up a cone and run up to it then practice your skill moves. If you're really set on being a tricky player the best advice would be to practice practice practice. learning how to keep the ball under pressure by using your body is more important IMO. I don't have any skill moves either (not that i consider myself a good footballer). skill moves should be instinctual and if they aren't for you, then don't force it. Stop, find the open man, and pass the ball! losing the ball is worse for your team unless you are a winger and if you are a winger you should change your position cause its pretty much the only position where use of "skill moves" is not endangering your team.Įdit: also watch the pro's.they rarely use skill moves.
